David was educated at Solihull School and then Cambridge University where he studied Land Economy. He joined Edwards, Bigwood and Bewlay in Birmingham in 1976 and has worked in the Midlands region ever since. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1979, becoming a Fellow in 1988.
David joined Shortland Penn + Moore Ltd after working for major practices in Birmingham including Bernard Thorpe, were he was Regional Managing Partner prior to the merger with DTZ and founded the Birmingham office of Drivers Jonas. Latterly he joined Fuller Peiser eventually becoming a director at BNP Real Estate, heading the investment department specialising in both development and investment. He has also had considerable experience in office agency, regeneration consultancy and valuations for both institutions and secured lending. He is a former Chairman of the Midland Investment Property Forum and has been on the board for over 6 years.
His investment experience includes high profile projects such as the Pirelli National Distribution Centre, the sale of Great Western Arcade in Birmingham for Prudential and a number of high profile acquisitions and sales in Coventry, including Chase Point and Swallow Park. He has also advised Coventry City Council on the sale of non-strategic assets.
David has acted for both private and institutional clients including acquiring a £10m plus portfolio for Portway Investments.
Away from the office, he is a keen tennis player and rugby watcher of Moseley FC, having previously played for them and at Cambridge University, and, a very long time ago Warwickshire Under 19 Schools. Married with two daughters David also manages to fit in time with the Birmingham Civic Society.
